Pakistan (Urdu: پاکستان Pākistān pronunciation (help·info)), officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a country located in South Asia.^[5][6] It has a 1,046 kilometre (650 mile) coastline along the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman in the south, and is bordered by Afghanistan and Iran in the west, the Republic of India in the east and the People's Republic of China in the far northeast.^[7] Tajikistan also lies adjacent to Pakistan but is separated by the narrow Wakhan Corridor. In recent times, Pakistan has been called part of the New Middle East.^[8]

The region forming modern Pakistan was home to the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation and then, successively, recipient of ancient Vedic, Persian, Turco-Mongol, Indo-Greek and Islamic cultures. The area has witnessed invasions and/or settlement by the Aryans, Persians, Greeks, Arabs, Turks, Afghans, Mongols, Sikhs and the British.^[9] It was a part of India during the period of the British Raj, from 1858 to 1947. Under compulsions of the Indian independence movement, (led by Mahatma Gandhi of the Indian National Congress), and the Pakistan Movement, (led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah of the All India Muslim League, which demanded an independent state for the majority Muslim populations of the eastern and western regions of British India), the British granted independence and also the creation of the Muslim majority state of Pakistan, that comprised the provinces of Sindh, North-West Frontier Province, West Punjab, Balochistan and East Bengal. With the adoption of its constitution in 1956, Pakistan became an Islamic republic. In 1971, a civil war in East Pakistan resulted in intervention from India and the subsequent independence of Bangladesh. Pakistan's history has been characterized by periods of military rule and political instability.

Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world and has the second largest Muslim population in the world after Indonesia. It also has the second largest Shia Muslim population in the world. The country is listed among the Next Eleven economies, is a founding member of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, G20 developing nations, Asia Cooperation Dialogue and the Economic Cooperation Organisation. It is also a member of the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations, World Trade Organisation, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, G33 developing countries, Group of 77 developing nations, major non-NATO ally of the United States and is a nuclear state.

SINDH POLICE HISTORY

On the pattern of the colonial Irish constabulary, Sir Charles Napier established a police system in Sindh in 1843. The British Army Officers closely supervised and controlled forces which were resultantly more disciplined, efficient and not corrupt. Influenced by the success of Napier’s police, the Court of Directors of the East India Company suggested that a common system of police be established on the pattern of Irish Constabulary.

The British Indian Government set up a Police Commission headed by Mr. H.M.Court in 1860. One of the policy directives to the Police Commission of 1860 was that "though the duties of the police should be entirely civil, not military, the organization and discipline of the police should be similar to those of a military body". The present police system in our country has been established under this Charter.

Department of Education In Pakistan

Education is one of the most important pillar of Government through which Government enhances technical & professional skills of its people so that they can play their due role in the development of country.

Education department was established with aim to fulfill states responsibility to provide basic education to its people. .

The prime objective of the department is to look after the educational affairs within the the province and co-ordinate with Federal Government and donor agencies regarding promotion of education in the province.

After devolution the primary education is being dealt by the District Government, but still Education department plays supervisory role of Primary education and manages Secondary education, Technical Education, incentive programs, development schemes.

IDEOLOGY OF PAKISTAN

The ideology of Pakistan lays down two important obligations for the Government. Firstly Education will become accessible to all citizens. Secondly it shall enable them to prepare an enlighten and civilized individuals committed to the cause of Islam. These obligations are in accordance with the teaching of the Qur'an, which recognizes provision of education as a right of the individual.

Quad-e-Azam says

"You know the importance of education and the right type of education cannot be overemphasized. Under Under foreign rule for over a century, sufficient attention have not been paid to the education of our people and if we are to make a real, speedy, and substantial progress, we must earnestly tackle this question and bring our people, in consonance with our history and culture, having regard for the modern conditions and vast developments that have taken place all over the world"

Quaid further says.. !

"There is no doubt that the future of our state will and must greatly depend upon the type of education we give to our children, and the way in which we bring them up as future citizens of Pakistan. Education does not merely mean academic education. There is immediate and urgent need for giving scientific and technical education to our people in order to build up our future economic life and to see that our people take to science, commerce, trade and particularly well-planned industries. We should not forget, that we have to complete with the world which is moving very fast towards growth and development."
